Madonna Vs. Lady Gaga – We Choose Madonna – Live Video Inside

Posted by & filed under , , .

The Material Girl was just in DC and took the Verizon Center by storm to show why Madonna is the Queen of Pop Music. There is no one in the world that can compete with her after this show and the MDNA tour. People have been giving her slack lately because her new album MDNA kind of sucked (which I agreed with until I saw the show. Now I love it. Kind of like when you’re listening to a cast recording before you’ve seen a show and songs that you didn’t like now become your favorites.) and because of the Elton John comments. Unfortunately, Madonna doesn’t take crap and if you challenge her, she gives it right back to you and takes it to another level. It was clear in the show who she was giving a big F you to which included Gwen Stefani (according to my friend but I didn’t see it), Guy Riche and Lady Gaga.

Don’t get me wrong, I love some of Lady Gaga’s music, but Madonna can create music that doesn’t have to rhyme to make me love it. Instead she can go out on stage and sing anything and you cannot take your eyes off of her. She is an absolute diva and one of my favorite moments, which you’ll see in the video below, is when Nicki Minaj says “There is only one Queen, Madonna.” Madonna took on her ex husband with a bunch of songs about anger and amazing effects. She took on Gwen Stefani (which I still don’t agree with) with having a marching band and drum line suspended in the air and moving around the rafters while drumming. It was freaking insane. The best though was when Madonna took over a Lady Gaga song on tour and did it 1 million times better than Gaga ever could. No wonder Elton John was pissed. Madonna sang Born This Way by Lady Gaga on the MDNA tour and then went into she’s not me.

Not only did Madonna’s MDNA Live Tour rip into everyone who compared Lady Gaga to her, but it also set the standard that Lady Gaga will have to reach if she ever wants to reach the fame and talent that Madonna has. Lady Gaga is amazing at theatrics and puts on an amazing show, but Madonna made it clear that she is still the one to beat. Lady Gaga talks about singing in her shows so Madonna flat out said that she’ll be singing this entire song live before she did instead of having parts of it pre recorded. If you challenge Madonna, she gives it right back to show that she really is the queen of Pop Music and that there will never be anyone who could beat her. Madonna’s live tour MDNA was amazing and her show at the Verizon Center was incredible. I’m still recovering from it. Here is one of the videos I found of Madonna’s live tour at the Verizon Center in Washington DC. She was amazing and is definitely my favorite above Lady Gaga. Please feel free to leave your comments below or other favorite parts of Madonna’s live tour if you have them. Lady Gaga is still amazing and has an incredible voice, but Madonna showed that she is still Queen. I love them both, but there is no comparison that I would rather see Madonna than Lady Gaga and will always love her music more.

Glee – The long awaited Madonna Episode

Posted by & filed under , , .

If last week’s overpowering story line crazy episode of Glee wasn’t enough to get you going crazy over this next Season, how about the rumor that the very next episode is going to be the long awaited Madonna Episode of Glee.

Ok, so it isn’t really a rumor anymore that there will be a Madonna episode of Glee, for all you dolphins out there, and it isn’t even just a rumor that it will be airing next week since it is already reported to air in publications like TV Guide, but judging by the Sue Sylvester Vogue Video where she clearly was a diva, well lesbian style, and claimed “Sue Sylvester Danced on Air” not to mention “Will Shuester I Hate You”, this episode is not only going to be Madonna Filled Material Girl insanity, but it should completely rock any Madonna fans love for Madge and completely get everyone singing and going crazy while watching the show.

Some of the songs we should hear (according to TV Guide) for the Glee Madonna Espisode include Express Yourself and Like a Prayer.  Not only are they classic Madonna, but they should be fabulous.  Especially since in the original Madonna song Like a Prayer they actually had a chorus and choir.

I cannot wait to see how this season turns out.  Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris and an entire line up of amazing talent and guest celebrity appearances.  If you are as addicted to Glee as the rest of the Gleeks out there are and want to share your opinions of the show, feel free to leave a comment here.

Can’t wait to share Next Week’s Madonna Episode of Glee with all you.

Here is the Guest Cast List taken from TV

Dijon Talton: Matt Rutherford

Idina Menzel: Shelby Corcoran – She better sing in this one lol.

Jonathan Groff: Jesse St. James

Naya Rivera: Santana Lopez

Harry Shum: Mike Chang

Evita Audience Participation – Madonna Version

Posted by & filed under , , , , .

Ok, one thing everyone loves is a good classic Broadway Show.  Well not everyone but when you mix a Pop Diva like Madonna, her acting is on and you also throw in a heart throb Hollywood Actor and Broadway Star like Antonio Banderas, you definitely have a winning mix.

Not only did this show become a reality and hit the main stream in the 90’s to bring Broadway back to main life, but it also sparked a career for Madonna, since in my opinion it was the only movie she starred in (besides A League of Their Own (Directed by Penny Marshall) with the fabulous, Tom Hanks, Rosie O’Donnell, Gena Davis and Lori Petty) where she did a phenomenal job.  I love Madonna and was even more in love with her when I saw this movie production.  I even went out and bought her remixes on vinyl to spin at a couple of raves and clubs when I was in college because when you mix a Pop Diva and Broadway together you are bound to get a few flawless songs and remixes from it.  Sure enough her Don’t Cry for Me Argentina hit the top of the dance charts as well.  But did you expect anything less from the fabulous miss Madge in her Broadway Screen debut?

Anyways, onto the purpose of this post which is the call backs from the song Don’t Cry for Me Argentina for Showtunes nights when they play Madonna’s Evita and everyone goes crazy.

She starts on her balcony with:

Madonna (M):  It won’t be easy

Audience (A):  Like you

M:  You’ll think its strange

A:  Like you

M:  When I try to explain how I feel

A:  Like a slut

M:  It won’t be eeeeaaasy

A:  Like you

Then this goes on for a while.

Now, when she finishes her next couple versus, the camera scans the audience and as it is scanning it eventually catches on to Antonio Banderas in the crowd and everyone yells “There’s Waldo”.

Another fun call back is when the crowd starts cheering Peron, Peron, Peron and the camera is scanning from the back to the front whee Madonna is on her balcony and since it is looking from behind the supports signs say noreP instead of Peron so everyone in the crowd will start chanting No Rep, No Rep, No Rep.  I just realized how ironic that is especially since Eva was for the representation of the Argentine People and we are chanting No Rep and that is her husband’s last name backwards.  Gotta love Irony!

Anyways, at the end of the song in some bars they all pass out drink napkins and when she finishes her speech and everyone cheers people toss drink napkins in the air like confetti to celebrate either the end of the song if you are not an Evita or Madonna fan or to cheer them both on.  Some bars do this and some don’t do it for this song but they do do it on the song “Buenos Aires” when she is leaving for the train.  BTW there are a ton of fun call backs for this song too.

Anyways, Evita was a hit at the movies and is still going strong strong at showtunes nights across the country in both straight and gay bars.  Everyone loves a classic show you can sing a long to and when you tie in stars like Madonna and Antonio Banderas it gets even better.
