The Best Animaniacs Songs to Teach You About Life – Buy the DVDs Here!

Posted by & filed under , , .

I was shopping this weekend and saw the entire series for the Animaniacs on DVD and almost bought it.  The Animaniacs was an awesome warner brothers cartoon show when I was a kid and one that everyone loved.  They were funny and educational, even though they were a bit off in the way they would teach you things.  Even though they made a lot of comments I didn’t get when I was a kid, here are ten of my favorite songs from the Animaniacs TV show.  Feel free to share your own favorite songs from Animaniacs below in the comments section.

If you’re an American like me, you should be ashamed if you cannot name all of the presidents. Although I can’t, this song is kind of funny and is actually an awesome way to learn them in order, things about them and be able to repeat it. A couple of the things are offensive like when they make a joke about the first president to be assassinated, but at the same time none of us were around so it doesn’t effect us like JFK does, even though it probably should. This song is awesome and is actually probably the perfect song if you have kids who need to learn about the US presidents and be able to name them in order.

In this video, Yakko teaches us how to Multiply. I suck at math so anything like this should be helpful, and it was, but unfortunately also got me confused at the same time. Either way he makes a ton of sense, but I still cannot follow any of his logic or the solutions without a calculator.

I am proud to say that I can name all 5 states and most of them in alphabetical order. I learned with a song when I was younger. I am embarrassed to say that I cannot name all of the capitols of the states and which states they all belong to. Go ahead and try. I remember learning them when I was a kid, but cannot remember them all now. I know a few random ones like Bismark, but I always get messed up when you have a large city in a state and it isn’t the capital of that state. If you need a song to help you learn all 50 state capitals, try the 50 state capitals song from Animaniacs.

Now that you’ve seen they are a bit crazy, here’s their shrink singing about them being insane. The shrink episodes were always awesome. Not as good as some of the others, but he was always funny. Especially when they drove him crazy.

Speaking of driving him crazy, in this showtune about therapists, you’ll actually see how they drove him crazy. In this song he tries to split them up for individual therapy sessions. Instead of getting through to them, they drove him mad instead.

Now it’s time to go from therapy to something that can cause you to need a therapist, learning another language. Even though math drove me crazy, learning another language was harder. In this showtune you’ll see how they learn to speak another language,,,even if it isn’t real.

If you cannot name all 5 senses, 6 if you’re a demon kid from the movies, then this song will help you remember them. This is one of the most forgotten showtunes from the Animaniacs, but it is still a good one. It isn’t one of my favorites but it’s still a funny one.

Even though Love isn’t one of the senses, it still effects you and makes most of your senses react. You smell things harder, you feel tears and pain and you can also hear things when you’re happy that you wouldn’t have paid attention to before. When you get your first kiss from the person you fall in love with you feel and taste things you can only have when you’re with that person and that’s why they have a song to teach us about love.

One of the first things many of us do when we fall out of love is go and eat. Ice cream is one of the most popular foods you see people eating in movies when they first break up with someone. It’s also something I think most of us go for. That’s one of the reasons that the Animaniacs created a song about being careful what you eat.

If they haven’t covered anything else you can think of, try their song about the universe. In this song you’ll learn about everything that exists, at least in their universe. I actually forgot about this one when I was writing this post.

The animaniacs were famous for the showtunes. They have one where Yakko sings all of the songs in the English language, one about hay pennies and not being greedy and even parodies of actual showtunes. The animaniacs were one of the most popular shows and it was exciting to see that they are now selling the animaniacs dvds again. If you liked the videos and have a favorite song from the animaniacs, feel free to share it below. Ethel, Fanny & Even Judy – Be Glad This Lady Wasn’t Around When You Were

Posted by & filed under .

I never post anything that isn’t directly related to broadway, but this video had me cracking up and it is about a movie, but not a song so I kind of had too.  Thank god she wasn’t around in the days of the Follies, because even if she doesn’t have a good singing voice (Carol Channing (who is actually one of my favorite performers ever)), she would have completely made it!  Check out her presence, overacting and insane commentary in the background and how she somehow actually makes it work.

This girl is a seriously talented comedic actress and someone I would probably love to see once and then never care about seeing again later on.  Her skit is about creating a flaming butter something drink because it is a cocktail for harry potter fans, who are 21+ of course, to drink before they go.  She created it because of the butter beer in the movie and turned it into her own fun and flaming beverage.  When you’re done watching her create her flaming butter beer cocktail for the harry potter movie, you can also check out this really talented person that put together an awesome spoof of The Book of Mormon using Harry Potter characters.

One thing that I love about sites like YouTube is that you can discover some amazingly talented people like the guy who pulled off Glitter and Be Gay from Candide without practicing or even the Les Miserables post that I am doing tomorrow.  It always shocks me how amazing some of the people are out there and because of these sites and then other people finding them and loving them that they can actually help to make a career for themselves.  This girl is awesome and would have probably killed the rest of the competition if she had ever auditioned for the Ziegfeld Follies, and if she was alive back then.  This skit had me cracking up and I’m glad she isn’t going after a comedy in NYC, otherwise I’d be scared crapless if I was another girl auditioning against her.  Feel free to leave a comment with what you think in the comments section below or share it on Facebook and Twitter with the share buttons at the top of the post.

It’s a White Christmas – A Betty White Christmas

Posted by & filed under , , .

Ok, I love this b*tch more than life itself. She is funny, fabulous and an absolutely amazing performer. Whether she is on TV, in a movie or on Stage, Betty White is amazing and that is why I wanted to do a Betty White post instead of a White Christmas.

Betty has been around, longer than most people, since her career began when she was born in 1922. I’d imagine she was probably just as lively back then as she is now. She’s been everywhere from the Mary Tyler Moore show to starring in the Golden Girls and even had a few stage appearances. The videos below are a few of my favorite Betty White moments, including her performing Hello Dolly which she auditioned for, but didn’t get because it was an all black production, and her last name is white. There are a ton of other fabulous Betty White videos out there like her I’m so Hot one, anything from Saturday Night Live and one of my favorites which I didn’t include where she plays a sweet version of Betty White on a movie set but makes one of the Actors lives hell. When he tries to show people how much of a bitch Betty White is, no one would believe him because, she’s Betty White and who could hate her.

Here are a few of my favorite Betty White moments you might remember or might not. Feel free to leave your own favorite Betty moments in the comments section and I’ll be happy to add it and the video to the post.

Here’s a quick and short one where Betty takes over Zac Effron’s audition for a singing role on the tv show The Voice. Betty works it and Zac has to walk away.

This is a rare Betty White and Bea Arthur performance before the Golden Girls where they were singing at a piano and then performed a number together from 42nd St.

No one can perform like Betty, and no one can work a senior dance a thon like her either. Check her out in this fun clip from the Golden Girls.

If you thought Liza performing Single Ladies in Sex in the City 2 was amazing, check out the Golden Girls performing it without even trying to. This is an awesome video.

One thing that is nice about Betty is that she cares about everyone. That’s why she wants to make certain we are all prepared for the apocalypse. Here is her survival guide for you so you too can survive the apocalypse like Betty White.

The last clip is Betty Performing Hello Dolly for Morgan Freeman.

Spaceballs – Hello My Baby

Posted by & filed under , , .

My friend ended up in the hospital the other day and they weren’t sure what was wrong with her. They ended up keeping her overnight. When I finally talked to her and she told me she had been in the hospital, she made a comment that the only other time in her life they made her sleep in a hospital was then she had a baby coming out of her. For some reason that instantly made me think of the movie Spaceballs and the alien that comes out of the guys stomach and sings Hello My Baby like the frog from the Looney Tunes.

Where babies come from may actually still be a mystery to many gay men. All we know is that women produce them and they can be adopted…but this movie made me finally realize why women complain about giving birth and why they say it is one of the most painful and magical things in the world. I’m thankful that I don’t have to have little alien babies pop out of my stomach, ouch, but it would be cool to see them start singing and dancing as they come out and take their first steps. Who knew that that is actually how babies are born and that it was that cool.

Anyways, I know where babies come from and the above is meant to be a joke so please don’t get upset or take it the wrong way. Giving birth is a seriously painful and amazing thing that shouldn’t be a joke, but when my friend was talking about it I instantly thought of the scene from Spaceballs where the alien comes out of the guys stomach and starts singing and dancing. If you have another favorite giving birth showtune or video clip, feel free to leave it below in the comments. I love the movie Spaceballs and think this is one of the funniest scenes from it. It also makes me happy that I don’t have to worry about giving birth, especially if its as painful as this movie makes it look. Thank you again for reading.

Broadway Parodies Les Miserables to Overthrow the GOP

Posted by & filed under , .

I don’t think anyone would be shocked to find out that many people on Broadway are democrats and probably don’t agree much with people like Mitt Romney. At the same time, people on Broadway also tend to be a bit more outspoken than most others and when there is a heated election and corporate donations being made that cause fights between friends, Broadway likes to parody itself and its shows, especially if they are relevant to the time period. A few Actors with amazing voices decided to compare the US election between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to the French revolution from the show Les Miserables and bring out numerous similarities. Although I think they went a bit to far by throwing serious left wing politics in your face during the beginning of this video, One Term More is actually kind of a good parody song and video to help you realize that regardless of who is president and who wins, right now America is sort of similar to France during the revolution.

They bring up dying or dead cities like Detroit. They bring up unemployment recovering but not strong and they bring up looking after the people you are supposed to represent. I normally do not ever post anything political on any of my sites or blogs, but this parody is done extremely well, once you get past the extremely in your face messaging in the beginning of the song. We have writers from both sides of the political parties here at BroadwayReviewed.com, so this is not any opinion of any one author or person. Instead it is just like any other parody we would play. To keep anyone who may get offended happy after watching the One Time More video parody of One Day More from Les Miserables, I have also included a funny GOP friendly clip about Barack and Biden slip ups and mashups from a popular late night tv show host.

I think that it is also well done and even though they take everything out of context with them, if you are more conservative or part of the GOP, this will definitely bring a smile to your face as well. If you are a Democrat and have a sense of humor, you would also be able to enjoy the second video after One Term More. Anyways, this post isn’t about politics but it is about an awesome parody of the song One Day More from the show Les Miserables called One Term More and the reason I am posting it here is because it is amazingly well done with extremely relevant references comparing the people who fought in the French Revolution to what is currently happening here in the USA right now.
