When I was younger my family always took us to see touring casts when they would come through our town.  I got to see everyone from Carol Channing and Raul Julia to shows when I was older with Liza Minelli and Kristin Chenoweth.  We would always go as a family with my Aunts and Uncles and everyone else so I was raised loving going to the theatre.  Eventually I decided I wanted to start a blog about broadway but I didn’t know what to write about.

There are a ton of sites that talk about the actual show and everything behind the scenes.  Others just give crappy reviews and tell you what the show is about.  I didn’t find any about the songs or the characters or what the shows meant to them which is what I decided I wanted to write this broadway blog about.  Sometimes I had heard the showtunes before I saw the show, and because I didn’t know what the show was about, the song meant something completely different to me.  I thought Being Alive from Company was a happy song and even when I watch the show, it is still a fun song for me that I love.  Because people can think of showtunes in different ways and the songs mean different things to everyone, I wanted to create a broadway blog for people who just like showtunes and want to know what other people think of them.  That is how Broadway Reviewed got started.

I’ve probably seen more than 100 shows, I’ve gotten to star in a cast and now that I’ve moved on and started my own career, I finally get to write what I love about the theatre and get to share it with you all on this broadway blog about showtunes, shows and touring casts.  I’m not a director or someone obsessed with theatre, but I am someone who loves to go to shows and share what I think about them.  I also encourage you to share what you think or what you think the showtunes I review are about in the comments section.   Thank you for reading Broadway Reviewed and helping me to keep writing on this broadway blog.  I’m also always looking for people who want to write a guest post, so feel free to leave a comment with your idea and I’ll write you back and let you know if it is a good fit.

Thank you again for reading and happy to have you here!

I really really love your site. Would it be too much to ask of list of your top 50 broadway/show tunes? Also, I will be performing a set of broadway songs and would love your help and opinion if you had the time to help me put together a set.
