Normally I rip apart Las Vegas shows since they are quicker, cut them down and the audience wants to leave and go party. When I was at a work conference last week, Ceaser’s entertainment comp’d me tickets to another one which turned out to be front and center seats for Rock of Ages Las Vegas at the Venetian/Palazzo. So what did my friend and I think of Rock of Ages Las Vegas?
Rock of Ages Las Vegas Reviews
The only thing I could say is that Rock of Ages Las Vegas ROCKS!!! Not only are the reviews of Rock of Ages Las Vegas accurate, they don’t do the show justice. From the minute you walk in and they give you the mini battery operated lighters to when the performers interact with the audience, you’ll be dancing, singing and ready to put your hair as high as Rave Hairspray can take it.
So what are the best moments, things to avoid and where should you sit?
There really isn’t a bad moment in Rock of Ages. The music and mashups are like watching a Glee quality mashup, but with great voices for the bands and actual rock music sound. Instead of high schools and broadway voices, you get real rock and roll sounds which is amazing! The difference is they hold the notes longer, make them more in your face and you cannot help but to join in, get out of your chair and dance.
My favorite moments in the show were the strip club, the coming out scene with the Sistine Chapel painting spoof and the happy ending of course when everyone in the audience is singing and dancing too. I wish I could say more, but anything else would spoil Rock of Ages Las Vegas for you!
Things to avoid
Avoid the drinks in the theatre. They are insanely overpriced. Instead, there are penny slots where you can bid 1 penny and spin to get free drinks before you go in. This will save you a ton of money and get you ready to lose your fears and belt out a few 80’s tunes.
Best seats for the show
There are no bad seats for Rock of Ages Las Vegas. The theatre is small so the balcony is probably not a good choice if you want to feel like you’re a part of the show. I normally recommend balcony right or left so you can see all of the dancing, but for this one you want dead center and as close as you can get. You will literally feel like you’re in the show, you’ll be blasted with incredible music and have a ton of fun that you can only experience when sitting in the front section dead center for Rock of Ages Las Vegas.
